Koh'a's eye patch stays on in public and in private unless it's just him, or only him and his husbands.

The rest of the world honestly believes he lost an eye in battle because he's never, ever without the patch. But no. He's just shy and dumb.

Eliyah's mask stays on at all times because contagions (in universe reasoning). To me, though, his mask stays on because that's Bloodborne, baby

Koh'a wears his heart on his sleeve BUT

He emotes the way cats do, so many people think he's stoic

Because his Hyper Empathy Echo got him to Hear Feel Think about too hard at Hydaelyn, he's gradually been getting Light poisoned his whole time as WoL, which has been removing his ability to have emotions

After Endwalker he starts getting better :)

Koh'a No Banana

And while I'm here, a headcanon of mine about this PVP hair.

As it is very popular with Miqo'te players especially, I like to imagine it's a traditional Miqo'te hairstyle. That's why so many Miqo'te are wearing it.

As a Keeper of the Moon who grew up on a small island, Koh'a was taught that the pearls they dive for are gifts from Menphina, since they're like little moons you can carry with you. The pearls in his hair are from his home :>

When living with a Keeper, once must be prepared to get up for a drink of water at 3 am and turn the corner into a dark hallway to see this staring at them

Once every two months or so Koh'a remembers he has a social media account and posts something like a photo that was clearly taken from the top of an extremely tall tree, or a the roof of a government building, or a rock in the middle of some dangerous rapids, never with an indication of why he's there or how he got there or intends to leave, and the focus of the photo is a bird or a butterfly or the sunset or something and his entire caption just says "bird" or butterfly"
